Gov. Seyi Makinde never faulted Tinubu, Oyo APC merely seeking attention – CPS
Governor Seyi Makinde never faulted or accused President Bola Tinubu of subsidy removal or its timing contrary to the claims of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Chief Press Secretary to Oyo State Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju has said.
Olanrewaju explained that Makinde only made reference to the effects of the fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians, noting that it was clear that the APC in the state was on an attention-seeking voyage.
He however added that, the governor, while not faulting the policy or the timing, noted the undeniable fact that the policy has had a telling effect on the populace.
Olanrewaju spoke in reaction to an earlier statement by the Oyo APC through its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare.
Olanrewaju said: “It is clear that the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State is on an attention-seeking voyage. The party has been put to deep slumber by the unprecedented achievements of His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde in the last 55 months. “What the party and its members do now is merely to grasp at anything to gain the public space.”
