Tiwa Savage’s Water and Garri To Premiere On Prime Video

A midst her squabble with her industry colleague, Davido, Nigeria’s Afrobeats Queen, Tiwa Savage is making foray in the movie industry. The singer recently announced that her debut production, ‘Water and Garri’ will soon start showing on the streaming platform, Amazon Prime Videos.
Taking to her Instagram page, the songstress described the production of the the movie, which took over two years, as one of the most adventurous things she has done.
“Guys, I’m so excited to announce that my first feature film #WaterAndGarri will be released this year through @primevideo and shown in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
“This has been over two years in the making and is probably one of the most adventurous, fulfilling things I’ve done. I feel blessed and honoured not only to be making my debut as a lead actor but to have also executively produced this film.
I honestly can’t wait to take you guys along with me on this next phase of my life and art…. I’m just getting started. Huge love to Director @mejialabi. You made a masterpiece! Also Producers @J_adesanya @missamadi,” she wrote.
The Meji Alabi directed movie shot in Cape Coast, Ghana, starring Mike Afolarin (Far From Home) and Jemima Osunde (New Money) tells the story of Aisha (Savage), an ambitious fashion designer who returns homes after 10 years away in the U.S. but must learn to live with her scars and confront the guilt she left behind.
Meanwhile, the police has said that it is looking into the petition by Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, over alleged bullying and threat to her life by Grammy nominee, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on Wednesday in Lagos.
